Jacek Kepa (PhD) is a European Patent Attorney and a registered UPC Representative at De Clercq & Partners with strong experience in patent prosecution, opposition and appeal proceedings and strategic IP advisory work across physics, electronics and high-tech engineering fields. He advises innovative companies on the protection and development of patent portfolios.
Jacek holds a PhD in Physics from KU Leuven, with a specialisation in semiconductor interfaces. He also obtained a Master’s degree in Bioelectronics and Nanotechnology from Hasselt University and Maastricht University. This multidisciplinary academic background provides him with a solid foundation in both fundamental physics and applied engineering technologies. He joined De Clercq & Partners in 2015 and qualified as a European Patent Attorney in 2019. Jacek’s technical expertise spans a broad range of technologies, including semiconductor materials and devices, photovoltaics, transistors, optoelectronics, medical devices, biosensors, electronics, ICT, computer-implemented inventions, artificial intelligence, materials science, nanotechnology and analytical instrumentation. He is regularly involved in IP due diligence, patent landscape analyses and long-term portfolio strategy for technology-driven companies.
